Waarschuwing:
- a) Kruid. Eten van brandnetel (soep) en brandnetelthee van vers blad of de drogerij zijn gezond vanwege de vitaminen en mineralen.
- Bij vers blad en vooral de stengel letten op de brandhaartjes: bij aanraking breken die, waardoor mierenzuur vrijkomt, wat irritatie aan de huid veroorzaakt.
- Bij diabetes en neiging tot hypochlycemie alleen gebruiken in overleg met een arts of fytotherapeut.
- Bij vochtretentie door hart- of nierlijden alleen op voorschrift van een arts.
- Bij nierklachten ook een arts consulteren. In hoge doses vermijden tijdens de zwangerschap (vanwege het stimulerend effect op de baarmoeder) of als borstvoeding wordt gegeven.
- b) Wortel. Over het algemeen veilig, zonder nevenwerkingen.
- Bij te hoge doseringen kunnen maagdarmklachten optreden.
- Niet geschikt voor zwangeren en als een vrouw borstvoeding geeft.
- c) Kruid en wortel. Vermijden indien men allergisch is voor soorten van de brandnetelfamilie.
